ADAPTING YOUR BOOK TO A SCREENPLAY

This workshop provides an overview and will cover the following: looking at some key book-to-film successes, discussing key tools for selecting a book with a built-in advantage. It will pose the questions, “Is this a film?” and “If so, how would you adapt it?” in order to help study the process through comparison we'll focus on one of the more successful book genres in the book to film market, young adult novels. It will also cover how to option a book's film rights, and packaging a book to film project.
